Bridle lines
There are two major types of lines: sheathed and unsheathed. Coated lines are more UV-resistant, have a more constant length and are therefore very suitable as bridle lines. However, the larger diameter makes for higher air resistance, which is why unsheathed lines are now very often used. Here is an overview.

Tubekite bridle lines
Some tubekites work with unsheathed bridle lines, mostly lines like the Liros DC300 or DC200 are used. More often, however, tubekite manufacturers work with sheathed lines. Here, the GWL200 is a very good choice for most cases. North (before 2019)/Duotone often used the Teufelberger Tarifa.

Softkite bridle lines
Different materials are used for softkites. On the one hand, aerodynamically favourable unsheathed lines such as the Liros DC series, which we offer in breaking loads from 60 to 500daN. On the other hand, sheathed paraglider lines such as the PPSL series are used, which are somewhat thicker, but also more consistent in length and stiffer. Manufacturers such as Flysurfer or Ozone also offer line plans. You can also order Flysurfer replacement bridle lines directly from us.
Lines for Pulleys
When lines go through pulleys, special requirements are needed. Here the manufacturers have different philosophies.
For metal blocks, our GWL 330 is ideal. A sheathed, stiff and highly tear-resistant line with high abrasion resistance.
Manufacturers who use plastic blocks (North/Duotone) or larger pulleys (e.g. F-One) instead of one pulley usually use 3-4mm lines. For North(alt)/Duotone for example these here.
Flysurfer or Slingshot use smaller pulleys. Here we recommend the DFLS200 or the GWL 200.
Pigtails
The short tethers that are sometimes looped into flying lines or kites are called pigtails. We can make very durable and robust pigtails to order. We have a lot of choice here. With the universal pigtails, for example, any kite can be attached to a bar (note the compatibility, however). If you want something more delicate, we recommend the light pigtails. Or you can configure your pigtails according to your requirements.
