Line ends
The line ends of flying lines
Since a knot in a line more than halves the breaking load, lines should be provided with a special end. We offer several line ends available for order online.
The line ends from left to right:
Spliced Loop
A splice has a small diameter and no protruding ends. A very noble way to finish lines, especially for extensions, pigtails or the bottom end of the line. If a splice is tied on and off very often with larch head knots, it can wear a bit more, here an additional sheath or looped pigtail would be a recommendation.
Sheathed Loop
The line is sheathed and sewn at the end. Frequently chosen line end by kite companies. The sheath protects the end of the line when tying and untying.
Loop with knot
In addition, a knot is attached here in the loop. This means that this end of the line can be tied with both knots and loops.
Splice with partial sheath and loop
Combines the advantages of splice and sheathed loop. (Note: If the line has to fit through the quickrelease, a normal splice is usually better because the sheath makes the line too thick for this purpose).
Splice with partial sheath Sheath and loop with knot
knot Combines the advantages of splice and loop knot.

The line ends of depower lines and centre lines
Thicker lines are usually no longer sheathed, but only spliced. We have made a sensible pre-selection for each line in our online configurators.

spliced loop
Clean and high in function.
Splice with knot Loop and knot
A spliced loop with an additional knot. Can be used universally. Up to and including 4mm thick lines can be configured online. For lines thicker than 4mm, however, the whole thing becomes a bit fat and is therefore only available on request (in kitesports it is rather not used like this).
Knot
behind the knot we provide the line with a ribbon, fuse it and sew the ribbon. This way the knot cannot slip. However, the breaking load of the line decreases (sometimes over 50%).
Knot ladder
Knot Three knots in a row, length is measured up to the third knot. However, the breaking load of the line decreases (sometimes over 50%).
Threading aid
The end of the line is provided with an overhanging tape and sewn. This helps enormously (!) when fitting a line where it is tight.
